Have you always wanted to learn how to make baskets? Come and learn the coiling technique to create unique and beautiful baskets. We will explore how create baskets with a variety of forms, embellishments and finishes. You learn ways to add beads, fringe and interesting edges to clay pieces. The only supplies you will need is medium weight yarn. This is a great new way to use up all that extra yarn you have laying around. Each class time we will concentrate on the steps in building your basket. All other supplies will be provided.

Getting started in Art Journaling will teach you how to prepare a background on the page, then how to layer, add color, add your own handwriting or apply a printed phrase which is meaningful to you. Each journal is completely unique to the artist making it. Participants should bring an 8 x10 blank wire bound journal, such as a Canson mixed media pad (easily found at Michael's stores or Dick Blick), which is strong enough to take wet or dry mediums, scissors, and any pictures, clippings, or other ephemera they want to use, and a waterproof maker. Adhesives and more will be provided

Jizo statues have been used ceremonially for centuries in Japanese Buddhism to help loved ones spiritually "cross over". We will reinterpret them into dolls after a brief history of their devotional uses by Norm. The dolls will be personalized in a meaningful way through our creative and decorative process and become useful spiritual tools for our home shrines and meditations. Supplies provided, participants can bring fabric paint, glitter, rhinestones, acrylic paint, meaningful accessories, etc. for personal use on their dolls or to share with the group

Namaste! For centuries Prayer Flags have been hung to send beneficial prayers and good fortune into the atmosphere every time the wind blows them. Using centuries old ground rules we will design our own interpretations of Tibetan Prayer Flags. Each participant will be given a blank set of five flags to be decorated with prayers, positivity, good vibes, and the artists' energy. To decorate the flags we'll use vintage wood blocks from Norm's collection along with pens and paints. When they are completed they can be used to decorate home and garden areas! All supplies provided.
