Prerequisite: Either one Intro to Belly Dance course or previous training in another belly dance class. Note: This is a 6 week class.
Belly dancing is incredibly empowering. You will have fun while building confidence, strength & grace. In this intermediate class, we will build upon the foundational moves learned in the Intro class. Short combinations & choreography will be incorporated into technique and drills making it a great workout for your muscles and your mind. Choreography will become more complex as we begin to layer multiple moves into the dance or incorporate props such as veils, fan veils, canes, or finger cymbals. Props will be available to borrow in class. For those who want their own, a limited number of props & hip scarves are available for purchase from the instructor.
Come in yoga pants, leggings or other attire that allows full range of motion. No baggy shirts, baggy pants or long skirts as it’s important for you and the instructor to see your body positions. Also, a scarf or shawl to tie around your hips is helpful to see your hip movements in the mirror. Socks, barefoot, or soft soled ballet shoes only in the studio!
