Sleep disruption is a major problem causing many physical and psychological issues. In 1910, the average amount of sleep each night was 9 hours. Today the average is 6-7 hours. According to the National Transportation Safety Board, fatigue causes over 100,000 highway accidents each year. A nursing home study revealed that falls and accidents are more common for people with insomnia. This presentation will provide the latest information the causes of sleep disruption and how to sleep more effectively.
