Youth Arts & Media Intern

Description

The Youth Arts & Media Intern supports our social media presence, digital outreach, and youth arts programs. This paid position offers hands-on experience in content creation, marketing, and community engagement within a nonprofit arts organization. Responsibilities include capturing and curating content, assisting with social media strategy, supporting gallery and gift shop operations, and engaging youth in the arts. Ideal candidates are creative, organized, and passionate about the intersection of digital media, community, and the arts.

This position is supported by a grant from the Illinois Art Council.

Responsibilities

  • Capture content around the campus and during programs to use for marketing and media outreach
  • Work with Womanspace Social Media Team (including volunteers and staff) to implement our Social Media Engagement and Outreach Strategy
  • Assists staff and volunteers with promoting exhibitions in the Reif Gallery, Gallery2Go, and special events

Qualifications

  • Must be between ages 14-22 to apply.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and basic photo/video editing tools, including: including Google Workspace Suite, Meta Business Suite, Canva/Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Enthusiasm for the arts and community engagement.
  • Professional attitude and a drive to learn.
  • Basic retail or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.

Time Commitment/ Hours approximately 10 hours/week, to be completed by August 15, 2025

Compensation  $15/hour
