Co-Founders and Co-Directors

	Elaine Hirschenberger, SSSF Executive Director (Co-Founder)
	Elaine has a unique blend of energies that she shares freely at Womanspace. She is artistic, conscientious, sensitive, and devoted to detail. She administers the Center’s business affairs,
finances and physical plant along with teaching pottery and calligraphy, facilitating groups and reenergizing women through massage. Elaine did her undergraduate work at Alverno College with a major in English and journalism. she pursued further work in painting, pottery and graphic design at the College of DuPage, Rockford College and NIU. She has trained extensively in Living Process Facilitation. She is happiest when she is in the garden, which she views as a work of art in process! Always a seeker as well as an artist, Elaine enjoys combining her skills in watercolor and calligraphy, in pottery and beading, as well as in decorating and design.

Dorothy Bock

Dorothy Bock, SSSF
Arts Director (Co-Founder)

“Direct, inspiring, empowering and a creative lover of life” best describe Dorothy, who is an intuitive mentor to many.

Her energy spills over in her lectures, workshops, art classes and retreat facilitation. Her poetry, painting and sculpture embody both her passion and her deepening peacefulness.

Dorothy received her BA from Alverno College, her MA in English literature from Marquette University, and her MFA in painting and sculpture from the University of Notre Dame.

At NIU, she did further work in communications and humanities programming. Having studied and practiced Living Process Facilitation and having worked extensively in recovery issues, Dorothy continues to explore the frontiers of dreamwork, meditation and healing transformations.
