Fall Equinox Celebration | Spirituality of Friendship

Fall Equinox Celebration
This special evening begins with a talk about Fall Equinox lore, ceremonies, sacred sites, and traditions across cultures and through time. Selena will share ways of creating personal, household, and community celebrations to welcome in Autumn. The talk will be held in the Fountain View Room, and will be followed by a Fall Equinox ceremony. Weather permitting, this multicultural and interfaith ceremony will be held outdoors and will include a meditative candlelight labyrinth walk in the light of the Full Moon. Bring a votive candle in a votive glass for use in the ceremony.

Selena Fox is Executive Director of Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve near Barneveld, Wisconsin and Senior Minister of Circle Sanctuary, which serves nature spirituality practitioners worldwide. Her writings about celebrating the seasons and Nature communion traditions have been widely published. She has a MS in counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and specializes in life passages counseling. Selena performs Green weddings, funerals, and other rites of passages, and is director of Wisconsin’s first Green cemetery. Active in interfaith work for more than forty years, she is a consultant on religious accommodation for state and federal agencies, and advisor to interfaith groups and projects across the nation.

The format will include both presentation and reflection time.

The Rev. Dr. Joyce Beaulieu is an Episcopal priest from Belvidere, originally ordained in Lexington, Kentucky. She was trained in small group spirituality at Seabury-Western Seminary and has been a member of and led small spirituality groups with women, in both Kentucky and Illinois.
