Membership

Membership in Womanspace is open to any person, regardless of sex, creed, disability, race or national origin. Members of Womanspace endorse the work and support the philosophy of the organization.

Benefits

  • Members receive all mailings from Womanspace, including Your Guide and Intertwinings, our e-newsletter. Both publications provide information about upcoming programs, including full course descriptions, details on location, cost, materials, and other timely news.

  • Members are entitled to a 10 percent discount on programs that cost $20 or more, when paying by cash or check.

  • A member’s immediate family (dependent children, spouse) may register at member’s rate.

  • Members of Womanspace who wish to participate in programs and who cannot pay the total cost are invited to contact the Executive Director about bartering (trading) services to gain credit toward programs.

  • Members may offer their original art, jewelry, books, and related items for sale in Gallery2Go.

  • Womanspace members are encouraged to join committees to connect with one another, share their talents, and demonstrate their leadership skills.

  • Members are entitled and encouraged to use the Womanspace library.

  • Members are eligible to promote their business at periodic open houses.

  • New adult members are invited to a special event hosted by the Membership Committee. New Junior Members are invited to a tea.

Responsibilities

  • Membership in Womanspace demonstrates your support of this organization.

  • Even those who cannot participate actively (for whatever reason) who maintain a membership are important to the organization and its continuance.

  • Womanspace is an interfaith center designed for the education and development of women and their families. It is not a club, and there are no meetings that members are required to attend. Members are, however, encouraged to participate as fully as possible in programs, events and committees that fit their interests and needs. They are also invited to serve as ambassadors for Womanspace, spreading the word to family, friends and their communities on the benefits of supporting and joining Womanspace.

  • To the extent possible, each member is also requested to contribute time and service to Womanspace and to donate to the Annual Fund Drive.
