Dialogue, based on the oral tradition of Native American council, has been used with various groups to teach the practice of listening skills and the ways in which to speak from one’s authentic voice. In dialogue, conducted via a council circle, we learn to listen deeply and to speak from the heart. This practice can help you find your truth and articulate it without judgment from others. Dialogue can also help to address inner and outer conflicts. Just listening and speaking in the way of council often unfolds answers to individual and group challenges. It can help you to access and speak from your inner truth. Hearing yourself and others in a new and more profound way, you may come to see something and/or others in a completely different light. Together we will learn the techniques of and engage in authentic dialogue as we embrace this ancient practice.

“To listen is to lean in, softly, with a willingness to be changed by what we hear.”

–Poet and spiritual leader, Mark Nepo
